Frequently asked

What is the technology behind Lines SONIC?

Lines has developed a unique pellets extrusion additive manufacturing technology, made for high speeds and high flow rates at the same time.

Think about screw extrusion, but different. Unlike traditional 3d printing, Lines' deposition head has been designed much more compact yet more powerful than most massive extruders seen on competitors machines.

Lines SONIC' approach is to build parts at high speeds using small layers enabling finished parts to be used or painted directly out of the machine.

Why SONIC differ from other LSAM Technologies?

SONIC has been developped specifically for serial production setting it apart from other large-scale additive manufacturing (LSAM) solutions. With this machine and technology, you can focus on industrializing your products benefiting from additive manufacturing rather than prototyping and constraining yourself to small quantities.

Thus, the machine is made for industrials who need to produce parts from 10 to thousands per year, per machine.

What materials can be printed with Lines machines?

Our machines are capable of processing most thermoplastics in the form of pellets or flakes, including many challenging ones that have been already approved by industrials for years, especially in the automotive, railway, and aerospace industries.

This versatility provides our customers a proven, reliable, and cost effective supply chain. This allow them to work on certified applications while ensuring globally accessible volumes to support their manufacturing needs.

What nozzles and layer heights/widths are available?

Lines offers a wide range of nozzles (from 2mm to 10mm in diameter) to accommodate various layer heights (from 0.4mm) and widths (from 2.5mm), providing sufficient flexibility for high-volume production of fine-detailed large parts.

With the help of Lines Launchpad team, we always select the optimal nozzle for each of your parts depending on your specifications.

What are the benefits of SONIC technology?

Lines Sonic brings the transformative benefits of Additive Manufacturing into production units. From now, you can consider implementing 3d printing for serial production of large polymer parts.

With unmatched manufacturing agility, incorporate design changes instantly and seamlessly produce varied products back-to-back.
Achieve five times shorter lead times by moving from CAD to production-grade parts within minutes, allowing you to reach markets faster and reduce product development costs.
Minimize your environmental impact with a reduced carbon footprint by enabling tooling-free production using only essential resources.
Benefit from advanced topological design freedom to enhance product shapes and functionalities.
And simplify your stock and supply chain by producing on-site, where and when it's needed.

Do you sell machines or produce parts?

Lines sells Sonic machines to customers all over Europe, and offers additional services covering the needs for demonstration, training, and maintenance.
